Lucky me!

I got Father's Day pictures done this year and I waited until the last minute. For one because I'm a procrastinater and two because both kids got bit by something on their faces. What ever it was really enjoyed Jacob. He had 6 on his face. So the day before Father's Day I had their pictures taken and while I was waiting to see the proofs, Jacob was outside playing, jumped off a toy and smacked his eye on a concrete pilar. He bloodied his nose and got his first black eye.
Well at least the pictures came out cute.

Police-Frog- update

This last week I have been fed up with our street becoming an Autobahn and called and asked Simi PD to audit the street for speed humps, signs, auto firing lasers... anything to slow the speeders down.
Now, I am not stranger to the long arm of the law when it comes to speeding. Since my 16th birthday I have had at least one speeding ticket at any given time... They fall off every three years, and every two years or so you can take traffic school to keep the ticket off your record.....you do the math, I speed a lot. BUT, I speed on the freeways, where I don't risk residential children darting out into the street. With my JacobSon so active, and our best friend across the street, we cross the street at least 37 times a day.
A moto-cop sat on our street for 1 hour and nabbed 5-6 people...IN ONE HOUR. He could of caught at least twice that if he didn't have to tow one of them, and the tickets take time to write. Here is a video of the cop, you will see our friend Mimi offer the cop some water, just to get shut down because duty calls.

While removing the spa in the back yard, I found a frog. I put him in a plastic tub so that Jacob could see him.
I tore the old spa out, and will replace it sometime in the future with a custom built in ground spa.

Jacob completed a two week course in swimming lessons. He is fearless of the water and did really well. Our friend Mimi has a pool that we will practice in all summer.

So, I am going to try to update this blog each weekend, but no promises.

Makenna's big day

Makenna turned 6 months on June 8th. We started her on rice cereal and as you can see by the video, we couldn't shovel it in fast enough. She loves real food. She is 26 inches and 18 pounds.

Fathers and sons campout

This is Matt and Jacobs first year going to the fathers and sons campout. Jacob has been camping before but not without mommy. He had a great time setting up camp, playing in the dirt and just hanging out with all the guys. But when it came time for bed, he realized that he was going to sleep in the tent and that his mommy was not in there. After two milk bottles and being extremely tired, he crashed. Morning came sooner than daddy would have liked. Jacob was wide awake and very talkative by 6 am.

Summer is here.

Makenna learned to play games with her googie.
Jacob and I helped our neighbor Freddie put in a 30 inch box palm tree. The concrete deck needed to be saw cut, the hole dug, and the tree transplanted. Jacob like to work without clothes,...definitely a Kempton. Afterwards, we all cooled off in their pool. It was Makenna's first swim, she enjoyed it.
