Date Night

For "Date Night", Matt and I went to REI and shopped their 50% off of clearance. We ended up getting these shoes for $15. They are regularly about $100. Not exactly the kind of shoe shopping I enjoy but they will come in handy in Cancun.

Keline the song writer

Keline, my sweet wife wrote a pretty cool song about our two kids. It goes by the tune of "It's a hard knock life: from Annie". It is best sung out loud:

Jakey Jake I love you so,
Jakey Jake more than you know.
Jakey your my son my son,
Probably my only one;
Jakey I love you!

Miss Makenna I love you,
Miss Makenda yes I do.
You remind me of sugar,
Sweeter than a green booger;
Kenna I love you!

Such a cute song...

Last Day in San Fransisco

Today was our last day in the city. The Kempton family and Kakie went on a Downtown Double Decker bus ride, touring the entire city. We then went to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory and ate chocolate and ice cream sundaes. Kakie left with Joseph and the Kemptons continued on to the cable car. We took the cable car from the wharf to the top of California street, passed Nobb Hill. Then we rode it back down and came back to Berkley through the BART. Once back on this side of the bay, we stopped @ CPK for a late dinner and crashed in the Hotel. Tomorrow we will head down the coast and stop in Monterrey and Carmel.
On the trolley from the BART to the tour we ran into a mentally unstable individual that started barking and yelling at us. I had Makenna on my back in the carrier and Jacob by the hand in from of me. He was cursing and being extremely disrespectful. I instructed Keline to move to the front of the bus and he took that action as passive, so he became more dominant and obscene. We decided to get off the bus, and after making a complaint, we boarded the next bus to get where we were going. That is what happens when public health care financials are cut.

San Fran day 3

Today We wend to San Fransisco for the second day. We started off with Biking the Golden Gate. Jacob rode a tag along behind Dad, and Makenna rode in a cChariot behind Mom. Kenna hates biking. She cried pretty much the whole time. Keline also hates biking, she cried the whole time too. A couple miles in we switched bikes, so Jake could go fast with Daddy. Mom chose not to bike over the bridge; so Dad took both kids and started the trek up the hill and over the Golden Gate bridge. It was extremely foggy, called the bridge to nowhere. We then took the ferry back.
We then went to Rain Forest Cafe for lunch, the kids loved it, especially the fish.
Then we went on a harbor cruise, and Jacob wants to start a new sport, KiteBoarding.
He saw these guys zipping along, and he wanted to jump in the water and join them. Crazy kid.
After that we went on a 4D SpongeBob SquarePants. Jake loved it. We had to flub his age, because of the 3 and up rule. Age is a meaningless number. Case and point, Dad is 32, but can act 5 sometimes.
Then we took a trolley back to the BART and back home. We found out Makenna gets motion sickness, she puked within a minute on the trolley. She did that last night also, like lock work.

SF Day 2

Today we went to San Fransisco. We took the BART because they closed the Bay Bridge for the whole time we are here. :( When the subway goes under the SF Bay, the pressure drop is hard on the ears, and the kids.

We packed the day with many activities:

  • Fisherman's Wharf

  • Bay Aquarium

  • Hard Rock Cafe

  • Trolley ride

  • City tour on top of a double Decker bus

  • Clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl

  • Boudin's sourdough factory

  • shopping

  • 8 hours of walking

  • street entertainers (freaky)

We met up with Kakie, our favorite, and hung out with her most the day. She flew in to see a friend of hers. Tomorrow we are going to bike over the Golden Gate bridge (Jake's request) and go on a harbor tour.

Keline and are extremely tired at the end of each day. I make Jacob walk as much as he can just to wear him out. Makenna rides in the kid carrier on Dad's back. I know when she gets bored, she starts to pull on my hair.
